About Sample
Hardwood flooring is a product of nature. Each individual board has its own uniqueness in color, grain and characteristics. The variations in color and grain shown in the sample may not represent the true characteristics of the actual flooring.
About Photo

Product photos and website images are to offer an impression and examples of the appearance of the floor. The color, grain and character variations shown may vary from actual flooring due to the limitations in the reproduction of photography or the monitor resolutions.

As natural hardwood flooring ages and is exposed to sunlight over time, the color and shade of the wood is subject to change. Displayed samples to some degrees are changed in shade due to the photosensitivity. The change is normal for any wood product and it adds depth in color and enhances the natural beauty of the wood.
Molding Color Blending and Coordination
Hardwoods exhibit a wide range of colors and grain patterns, all of which change with time and light exposure, both artificial and natural. Meritage Hardwood’ wood moldings and accessory products will display this same color variability and range of tones. All of Meritage Hardwood’s prefinished wood products are factory-finished to coordinate with a specific manufacturer’s prefinished hardwood floor. We strive to create a blend between the hardwood flooring and the prefinished moldings and accessories.
Prior to installing hardwood flooring, we recommend that the installer sorts through and sets aside several pieces of flooring that most accurately blend with the hardwood moldings. This is called “blending hardwoods.”
During the installation, the pre-sorted flooring pieces should be installed next to the moldings to ensure grain and color consistency. These simple, but often overlooked, guidelines will provide a pleasing and trouble free finish every time.
